The building will also open 90 minutes prior to any performances outside these hours.

You can book your ticket online for performances.

Cloakroom and lost property

We have a cloakroom for small items and coats. Just so you know, we can’t store large bags, suitcases or backpacks.

Get here early

We recommend arriving 30 minutes before the performance starts, so you can soak up the pre-show atmosphere and have plenty of time to find your seat.

Food and drink

Take in the buzz of the theatre and grab a pre-show drink and a bite to eat at Park Kitchen & Bar or The Well. We are also open during the day for coffee, breakfast and lunch.

Park Kitchen & Bar

Park Kitchen & Bar serves a seasonally inspired menu that celebrates bold flavours and locally sourced ingredients. Whether you’re dining pre-show, post-show, or just dropping in for a delicious meal, our chefs deliver a feast worth savouring. View our sample menu.

Ticket holders can book a table at Park Kitchen & Bar to enjoy a 10% off all food on the day of the show as on your ticket. Offer does not include drinks and cannot be used in conjunction with other offers.

The Well

The Well is a theatre café and bar serving snacks and delicious soft drinks, craft beers and thoughtful wine selection. The bar opens 90 minutes before a show and closes an hour after a show.

Drinks purchased at our bars can be taken into the auditorium if they’re in plastic bottles or cups, but no glass please.

Children

We put on some family-friendly performances but, generally speaking, we don’t allow children under the age of five in the audience.

If the show allows children under five, under twos go free. If you’re a parent or carer, please book aisle seats to make getting in and out easier.

Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Filming and photography

We don’t allow recording on any cameras, mobile phones or other recording equipment in the auditorium.

Respect

We ask that you treat our staff and your fellow audience members with respect. We have a zero-tolerance approach to any intimidating, aggressive or threatening behaviour.

Sadler’s Wells East is part of the new East Bank cultural precinct in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The theatre is located next to the London Aquatics Centre and BBC Studios, and opposite the London Stadium.

Public transport

It’s easy to reach us using public transport. To plan your journey and for up to date information, visit the TFL Journey Planner.

When arriving via public transport, first follow the signs to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Bus

Numbers 108 and 339 stop at the London Aquatics Centre bus stop, a 300 metre walk from Sadler’s Wells East.

Numbers 97 and 388 stop at the Westfield Avenue bus stop, a 300 metre walk from Sadler’s Wells East.

When Carpenters Road opens behind the building these will be a new bus stop just behind the theatre.

Tube / Train

Stratford Station is 650 metres from Sadler’s Wells East, and is serviced by Central, Jubilee and Elizabeth lines, the London Overground, the DLR, and National Rail services. This station has step-free access.

Stratford International Station is 650 metres from Sadler’s Well East, and is serviced by the DLR and National Rail services. This station has step-free access.

Hackney Wick Station is 1.3 kilometres from Sadler’s Wells East, and is serviced by the London Overground, with links to Stratford, Dalston Junction, Highbury and Islington and Camden Road. This station has step-free access.

Bike

There are bike racks near the theatre, and several cycle hire stations nearby.

Car

If you’re coming by car, the easiest place to drop off is on Carpenters Road behind the theatre. After being dropped off you can take the lift or stairs up to the theatre entrance.

Drop off is also possible on Westfield Avenue.

Parking

The closest car parks to Sadler’s Wells East are situated at Stratford Westfield.

They have three car parks. Car Park B is the closest to Sadler’s Wells East. Exit the carpark by foot onto Chestnut Plaza. It is then a 500 metre walk to the theatre.

Only Car Parks A & B are open 24/7 for entry and exit.

Congestion charge

Sadler’s Wells East is inside London’s newly expanded Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ).
